First Beyond Good and Evil 2 Footage Leaks?
No one has any idea where the above footage came from. No one knows if it's official, fan-made, or leaked. It could be Ubisoft making a fake YouTube account and posting a video, it could be someone's college project, or it could be an official trailer released without an accompanying press release. It's also unknown if it's real-time, pre-rendered, or even in-game. What we do know, however, is that it shows the main character of Beyond Good and Evil (and, presumably, Beyond Good and Evil 2) being awesome.
It's easy to write it off as pre-rendered, but some bits of the footage do seem to be... controlled. The movements are a bit canned, but I'm not sure we wouldn't have said the same thing if a trailer for Assassin's Creed was shot in a similar way. Ubisoft could very well be using the AC engine to power Beyond Good and Evil 2, which would give Jade's word a good amount of interactivity. One of the things that made the original so popular was the blending together of various genres, so it wouldn't be out of the realm of possibilities to have a some HUDless free-running portions where she needs to escape.
So, what does everyone think? Real? Fake? First?

It looks great if it is the sequel to Beyond Good and Evil. The scene looks like it came from a certain movie, it almost want me to call the character Jade Bourne.

Yes, 00.19. It was the European version. Smart-ass mother-flippers...

Veggie, were you playing the European version of Mirror's Edge? Because in America, the lead character's name was Faith.

I wasn't under the impression that FAITH from Mirror's Edge changed HER name.

This definitely seems like it is pre-rendered. I mean, I could see the gameplay being very similar, but I doubt players would stand for the Shakey-Cam. What gives it that pre-rendered feel are her reactions to the gunshots and the world around here. I agree with you, though, Coop, there are moments where it looks like gameplay.
If they could code her to react like tihs naturally in-game, then this could be really incredible.

If Altair and Hope from Mirror's Edge had an awesome baby, it would be able to do this.

This looks awesome. It reminds me of the chase sequence at the end of the first Matrix movie. If it's fake, someone went to a lot of trouble.
