Nintendo's consoles have been abuzz with "ratings" news after Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars's 18+ rating by the British Board of Film Classification. The children's consoles seem to be the home of the strangely controversial, and now the same ratings board has given an 18+ rating to Sega's MadWorld, the extremely violent, stylized Wii beat-em-up.

The BBFC's 18+ best related to the ESRB's "Mature," which means the game is actually going to be released, and Sega's constant attempts to assure the game's successful rating was a success. In the past, few titles have been "Unrated," which is their way of saying that the game can't actually come out. The last game to receive this rating was the initial version of Manhunt 2, which was later edited to attain the 18+.

The game is due out within the next few months. Hopefully it doesn't repeat Manhunt 2's mistake of being all violence and no content, bringing the first truly mature experience to the Wii since last year's No More Heroes.
