Nooooooooooooooooo!

Solid Snake has been one of the saving graces of the Playstation 3. Sony fans have heralded his coming to bring the system the sales it needs to survive in the aggressive market it seems to be losing ground in. Today, Konami announced that it will not be as soon as some hope.

The delay will place Metal Gear Solid 4 in Q2, 2008. This marks the third date change for the title, which started in Q1 2008, moved to Q4 2007, was bounced to Q1 2008 again, and is now settling (supposedly) on Q2, 2008.

The official line is that the delay is to ensure "greater enjoyment for more customers worldwide." -SOURCE The full press release is below.

KONAMI announced today that "METAL GEAR SOLID 4 GUNS OF THE PATRIOTS", the latest in the METAL GEAR series, is scheduled to be released in the second quarter of 2008.

KONAMI had initially intended to release "METAL GEAR SOLID 4 GUNS OF THE PATRIOTS" this winter and has been working on the production of the title. KONAMI has decided to delay the title's release in order to make further improvements to the quality of the game and provide even greater enjoyment for more customers worldwide.

KONAMI will continue its efforts to make "METAL GEAR SOLID 4 GUNS OF THE PATRIOTS" meet everyone's expectations.

Another game is added to the list of delays for this holiday season. On the bright side, the game looks fantastic and at least Sony will eventually get the exclusive it needs.
