New Afrika Trailer Looks Like Animal Snap
Bound to be an Extremely Racist Video Game
by Coop
Now we finally know what Sony has been spending all of its money on, and why amazing looking titles such as Eight Days and The Getaway have been cancelled: lions. Sony has released a telling trailer for their upcoming photography simulation, Afrika, which shows a character driving around the desert plains and taking pictures. It looks like someone at Sony finally picked up a copy of Pokemon Snap and saw something they liked, because this game looks like the same thin, only far less entertaining.
After taking pictures of random animals you unlock actual videos, images, and information about real life animals. You know, bleeding edge information exclusive to the PlayStation 3, taking advantage of the cell processor. What did we do before you, PlayStation? Now my children will not go without an education.
I do fear the inevitable fallout when the fact comes out that this game is going to be set in Africa. Generally speaking, anything that takes place in that continent is bound to be racist and include black people, thus furthering the “there are black people in Africa” stereotype that African Americans have tried to hard to avoid. We at Gamervision apologize on behalf of Sony, and put them in the same boat as Capcom when it comes to blatant and unnecessary intolerance. Shame, shame, shame.
