The new trailer for Far Cry 2, entitled “Jackal,” was released today. I loved the original; it was one of my favorite shooters on the PC until Crytek screwed it up royally by introducing mutants and spinning around the non-plot until it felt like I was riding in a tilt-a-whirl. You know, almost exactly like what happened with Crysis. This game might have some of the same elements that drove me crazy about the original (rumors of the main character getting malaria makes me fear that they might introduce some superpowers by the end of the game), but the game’s innovative additions such as the amazing looking UI and the day/night cycle have me excited, optimistic, and ready to dump a few hundred dollars into my PC. If the game plays as good as it looks Spore has a definite contender on its hands for single-player game of the year, and I hope to god that Crytek has hired a new script writer since Crysis, because that game made Epic Movie look like Othello.

Oh, and can anyone tell me what song is playing during the video? It kicks some major ass.
