That's right! Nintendo has announced Pokémon White and Black versions for the Nintendo DS, due out this winter. According to the Japanese home page, "every aspect will be reborn innovatively," hopefully meaning that we're finally getting the Pokémon reboot of sorts that many have expected for years. Sadly, that's where information ends, and speculation begins. Luckily, we love to speculate. Straight up love it.
For years, rumors of Pokémon White and Black have bounced around the internet. The thought, for a long time, was that it would use the duality to set up an epic Team Rocket storyline, something fans have been asking for since they devious group was first introduced. There was a Gamecube version that had players taking up the Rocket flag and waving it, but the game sort of sucked, and we don't really talk about that. Needless to say, it did very little to quench fans' thirst for evildoing.
We'll hopefully have more information soon, as Nintendo will likely be detailing what they mean by "reborn innovatively" before too long. We'll definitely be anxiously awaiting this, since anything Pokémon gets us more excited than we're willing to admit. Odds are you're in the same boat. Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm going to hum the Pokérap for the next twelve hours.
