Professor Layton and the Misleading DLC

The Good Professor Pulls a Fast One

by Coop

GoNintendo did some digging and was able to find out a curious secret about Professor Layton and the Curious Village. Apparently the “downloadable content” in the game isn’t quite so downloadable. Every puzzle that is available to download is actually stored on the game itself, and connecting to the internet simply unlocks it. The puzzles are free, so what is the point of needing to go online to unlock them? If they were charging for it I would be able to bitch and moan, but since it is free I am a little bit confused.

So why would the developers do this? Did Nintendo ask them to so people would remember that the DS has internet capabilities? Do they plan on adding more puzzles in the future? The entire situation is, for lack of a better word, puzzling.

This confusing breakthrough was found by some hackers who poked around in the game’s data. If you are without a DS or don’t feel like buying one of the best titles on the system, you can click here to view all of the puzzles in the game. This includes yet to be released downloadable content as well, which should keep you occupied for some time.

Just for fun, I have pasted a puzzle from the game below. In a few days I will post the solution, so if you figure it out post a comment on my Gamervision page, as to not ruin it for anyone else who wants to try their hand at it. Have fun!

Nose to Nose!

Four horses are running around a course made
up of several concentric circles.

Horse A runs one lap an hour on its course.
Horse B runs two laps an hour on its course.
Horse C runs three laps an hour on its course.
Horse D runs four laps an hour on its course.

All four horses line up at the bottom of the
circle and start running their courses at the
same time. How many minutes will it take
until all four horses are lined up nose to
nose on a straight line again?

That's odd. I just finished this game last night (LOVED IT), and was wondering what the downloadable stuff was. I really want more freaking puzzles.
