Professor Layton Movie Getting Western Release Thanks to Manga U.K.
I've Got It!

Over a year ago, it was announced that there would be a Professor Layton movie in Japan. As was the case with anything featuring Layton, a Western release wasn't commented on. As time went on, it appeared that it would be limited to a Japanese audience, causing many (including myself) to spend most nights since the announcement crying and rocking back and fourth. This is, of course, a sin, since the West has proven time and time again their love for Professor Layton and his puzzling mysteries. Thankfully, the Professor will finally see his film released in the West thanks to Manga U.K., who announced plans to bring the film to Blu-Ray and DVD this fall.
Professor Layton and the Eternal Diva, as it's currently called (which may very well change), will be coming out for English speaking audiences this September. We're still not sure if it's going to be dubbed by the voice actors who play the characters in the games or simply subtitled, since the announcement wasn't specific, but in all honesty, we'd take either. The film has been out for long enough in some crazy language no one understands, it's time for the civilized world to take a peek.
Manga U.K. has also confirmed that there are puzzles to solve inside the movie, making it a true extension of the series. We've reached out for more information, and will be sure to update you as soon as possible with whatever Layton news is fit to print. Here's a hint: all of it.
