While reviews of Microsoft's Lips haven't been stellar, word on the title's wireless microphone complete with flashing lights have been fairly good. Fans of the music genre have been wondering when, if ever, it would be made to work with other games like Rock Band 2, Guitar Hero: World Tour, and Tom Clancy's EndWar. Alright, maybe only I've been wondering about EndWar...

MTV Multiplayer is reporting that Harmonix and Microsoft are hard at work on a patch, and it should be available for Rock Band 2 in the near future.

"Microsoft and MTV Games are working together to ensure that consumers will be able to use the wireless mics from ‘Lips’ with ‘Rock Band 2’ after launch. More details on timing to come. Harmonix and MTV Games strive for all third-party controllers to work with the ‘Rock Band’ games, fitting with Harmonix’ open-platform philosophy for controllers.”

That should help sell some Lips, and if the patch makes XBL before the end of the year it would be a great gift for Rock Band fans upset by annoying cords. No word yet on Guitar Hero's patch, but if Lips doesn't start selling soon I'm sure we'll see an update for PS3 usage before long.
