Sony Pictures Arrive on NXE's Netflix
And Not a Moment Too Soon!
by Coop

Last week we reported that films by Columbia Pictures, a subsidiary of Sony Pictures, were not showing up on the New Xbox Experience’s recently launched Netflix program. There were rumbling of “licensing issues” and some, including myself, doubted that we would see them added anytime soon. Well, depending on your definition of the term “soon,” I was wrong. Today, Columbia Picture’s films are available to stream over Netflix on your Xbox 360. Apparently it was, indeed, a licensing issue, and nothing more.
Now that that’s over, hopefully they can work on making it more feature complete. As of now, friends are unable to join in and watch Netflix movies as originally promised, and users need to access their Instant Queue from an internet enabled computer to add movies, instead of being able to add them via the Xbox 360. If these are both addressed soon, the Xbox 360’s answer to Sony’s Blu-Ray is apparent.
I’ve been using the hell out of Netflix on my 360 (mainly to watch the 4th season of The Office) and love the feature. Is anyone else digging it? Anyone sign up just for the NXE addition?
