The next chapter of the never ending saga of Infinity Ward and Activision versus PC gamers has been written, and it's likely to make even the staunchest supporters of IW irate. While the game has indeed been released and is currently available for Xbox 360, PS3 and PC, Steam Users who try to purchase the game (or who pre-ordered it through Valve's digital distribution service) are being locked out from their download entirely. Apparently, though the game is obviously done, something got clogged up in the works, and the full game won't be available to Steam users until tomorrow night at midnight.
It's shocking how much has gone wrong with the PC release of Modern Warfare 2. Major features were cut, things were scaled back, and now it's been mysteriously pushed back on the largest digital distribution platform with no reason given. If there needed to be more proof that Activision doesn't give a shit about the PC chunk of the market it's right here, and while it might not seem like a huge deal on its own, it means a lot when lumped with everything else. Needless to day, this sort of thing would never fly on consoles.
