Team Fortress 2 Begins Daily Scout Update Information
Sandman is First to the Plate
by Coop

As Gamervision user Karoshi has pointed out, Valve recently announced that they will be updating their blog daily, counting down the next week's Team Fortress 2 Scout Update. As expected, the Scout will receive several new weapons and a few dozen achievements, moving the game towards its ultimate goal: per-freaking-fection. This first weapon, well, sort of comes out of left field.
Ba-dum-crash.
Introducing: The Sandman! I could go on and on about what it does, but the Sandman is best described with the below image:
That's right, it's essentially a ball. A stun-ball, to be exact. The Scout will soon have a powerful stun, and will be able to disable everything from Pyros to Heavys, as long as he keeps his batting average up. I imagine this will be tough to use at first, but cannot wait to see how well Valve handles baseball physics. MLB Source, anyone?
This leaves his pistol and shotgun up for revamp. I'm not too sure what they might be, seeing as a baseball seems pretty far out compared to what they've already put forward, so it looks like we'll need to wait until tomorrow to see.
Red Bull? A stun gun? Any predictions?

I was just sitting on the can daydreaming about all the awesome match-ups and things I can do with The Sandman and I realized the Pyro's alt-fire will most likely mess up The Scout's day, big time. As far as the other weapon replacements, I'd be stoked if they gave him the nail gun shown in the original trailers, or maybe even his conc 'nades back.
And keeping in line with The Scout's tough guy Beantown heritage, I was expecting his melee weapon to be a shaleighleigh, a sock full of oranges, or maybe a foot long piece of hose filled with BB's and duct-taped up on both ends.
Does anyone know when it comes out?
Oh and there's also going to be a spy update where you get a silenced pistol.

With an update every day for the next few days, I'm guessing the entire Scout pack will be ready by early March.
As far as the silenced tranq pistol: we can clearly see The Spy brandishing it while sidling up against a wall in the original trailer. However, we also see Demoman using MIRVs: both throwbacks from TFC.
Personally I'd prefer to see The Spy's "feint" ability come back over his former main weapon.
That is
AWESOME
This is good!
