Don't freak out: BioWare has opened up registration for beta for Star Wars: The Old Republic. Before you get all excited and hit this link, know two things:

  1. You're probably not going to get in.
  2. Their website crashed as soon as it went up.

The reason you're likely not getting in is actually directly related to the second point. Way too many people are flooding the website, hoping to get an early taste of some sweet, sweet Star Wars action.

So many, in fact, that your dumb submission has nearly no chance of actually getting through. They're picking based on what sort of system you use, your skills, and your experience, so, in all honesty, don't even bother. In fact, it might be worth calling everyone you know who was thinking about it and telling them they shouldn't bother, either. Post on every message board, website, and social network, letting everyone know they should spend their time doing something else. Maybe they should spend their time doing the same, you could all share experiences about how fun it is to tell everyone not to sign up for TOR beta.

MUWHAHAHAHAHAHAHA. Ah, crap, I laughed out loud, didn't I. Oh well. Quick! I'll sign up while no one is looking! Ahhh!
