EA has announced that their upcoming MMO, Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning (WAR) will be released on September 18, 2008. This isn’t far from the previous date of “mid to late September,” but it is right around the time that Star Wars: The Force Unleashed, Fallout 3, and some sort of WoW thing is released, so Nurgle help them if they believe that I’ll be pulled away for this game. It looks nice and all, but the initial buzz hasn’t been too positive and I’m not about to jump into another MMORPG, especially once coming out against such strong holiday titles.

EA is also trying to pull an Epic-like campaign with the game by referring to September 18th as the "Day of Reckoning," so expect to see magazine ads, commercials, and website banners with that slogan all over it. It has a nice ring to it, but sorry guys, it’s no Emergence Day. Ah, who am I kidding, I’ll buy it the day it comes out, expect Gamervision’s coverage of WAR in late September.
