The most exciting updates will be hitting the PC version of Lost Planet. Gamers will be able to play as Joe from Lost Planet, but even cooler will be the ability to play as Frank West from Dead Rising and Mega Man. There will also be new view modes named "Resident Evil 4 View" and "Wide View". A movie mode will also be added allowing all cut-scenes to be viewed back to back. Four new maps will also accompany these new features. "Radar Field" is a closed-quarters map with a large radar dish allowing many vantage points; "Island 902" will be a Pacific Island themed map with many sprawling hills and underwater areas; "Hive Complex" will be a series of tunnels carved into the side of a war-damaged mountain; and "Trial Point" will bring "Lost Planet" action to a photo-realistic modern day office complex. These maps are currently available in the Xbox Marketplace, but will be free as of July 20th. Xbox users can also expect a series of updates that will address connectivity issues, but there is no word if the new playable characters will be available on the 360. Capcom is hoping these updates will help revitalize the Lost Planet community, which enjoyed the single player mode, but seems to have fallen short in multiplayer.
