Why am I excited about Dead Space? If you haven't watched the trailer, it's because the creative team behind the game is using sci-fi/horror classics like Alien and The Thing as their primary influences. If you have watched the trailer, then you know the other reason.

This game looks amazing. The environment looks incredibly ominous, using the emptiness of space to their full advantage, making the player feel totally cut off. The use of light will make exploring the space ship/station that much more traumatic. Dead Space is quickly climbing my "Most Anticipated" list of 2008.
