"Save Carmine" Outselling "Carmine Must Die" Shirts

Grub Killer Might Survive

by Jonathan H. Cooper

In Gears of War, Anthony Carmine was killed by the Locust in just a few hours. In Gears of War 2, Benjamin Carmine, his younger brother, survived a bit longer, and died a heroic death. In Gears of War 3, Epic is allowing the community to choose Clayton Carmine's fate and, from the looks of things, he might end up surviving after all.

Votes for Clayton's fate are cast with purchases of "Save Carmine" and "Carmine Must Die" shirts on Xbox Live. As of now, surprisingly, "Save Carmine" shirts are listed above "Carmine Must Die" in the Avatar Marketplace's "Most Popular" section, meaning that there are plenty of people out there who want to see the bad-ass eldest Carmine brother survive the Gears of War trilogy. I'd say it was a surprise, but, I mean, look at the guy. He's ripped by COG standard, and the average soldier on Sera looks like he's been working out nonstop since birth. And on all of the steroids in the world.

These numbers, obviously, aren't completely official, and don't take into account the sales of actual shirts from NECA's website or the San Diego Comic Con. Still, it's worth noting that, apparently, people want to see Carmine live, and that's a surprise in its own right.

Oh, and all proceeded go to Child's Play, so it's a good cause to cast a vote one way or another.

I'm still up in the air about it. It's the only reason why I haven't purchased yet.

Please people! Save Clayton! My Surname is Clayton, and I'd be rather ashamed if a very rare name was given the cursed Carmine death. Let a Carmine live!
