Today I got to checkout the HD update for Zone of the Enders, while I didn't leave with a bunch of new details, I can assure you that it looks fucking gorgeous and moves at a buttery smooth pace. Z.O.E HD now actually has all new, fully animated cut scenes; the bulk of which use sexy cell-shaded graphics for Zone's fantastic mechanoids. Sadly, if you were clinging onto rumors of online multiplayer for the title's versus mode, you'll be sorely disappointed; more so if you were hoping to see the notoriously overpowered Vic Viper rebalanced like he was in certain iterations of Z.O.E 2nd Runner. Even still things are shaping up nicely for its Fall 2012 release window, I couldn't get a solid release date out of any of Konami's people so we'll just have sit easy knowing that it'll be buyable "between September and...whenever" as one booth staffer told me.
