PAX 08: Interview With Nerdcore Rising's Negin Farsad
Viva El Nerdcore!
by Nikkita
Nerdcore Rising, an indie documentary following nerdcore's MC Frontalot on tour as he journeys to PAX, first caught my eye when it gained some recognition on the web after its world premiere at the SxSW Film Festival. Being both a film and nerdcore enthusiast, I was ready to fight for dibs on it at PAX where it made its west coast premiere. We were really lucky to catch an interview with director and executive producer Negin Farsad, who gave us some insight on what it took to make a film about the underdog known as nerdcore.
I left the convention center that day after the screening really impressed by the type of people surrounding me. The film industry is a rough one, so seeing how influential and supportive MC Frontalot's fans were in the making of Nerdcore Rising speaks volumes about this genre and the subculture it represents. Really folks, I say that with the deepest sincerity.
While congratulations are due to Negin for her rising (HA!) awareness, it is important that Nerdcore Rising and other indie films continue to gain support from the fans. You can do your part simply by going to NerdcoreRising.com, signing up on NerdcoreRising.com, requesting the movie, buying the movie, buying the t-shirt, making a donation, or simply passing it on to a friend. Every bit counts!
Also, for continued entertainment, make sure to check out the forementioned Nerd of the Week!

But the real question is: When do we get to see the movie?
Nice interview! I wish I had a chance to see the movie at PAX, but I'll be sure to watch it asap.
I would kill to be Nerd of the Week.
I wish I'd had time to check out the movie at PAX. Nice interview, Nikkita!
