Left4KDead Is Hilariously Small
Also, Ingenious and Totally Sweet
by Raccoonacorn
What can you fit into 4KB? Not much. I don't think you can even fit a paper clip into 4KB's worth of data - and those only weigh an ounce!
Left4KDead is the project of one Markuss Persson for the Java 4k competition. The goal - squeeze fun games into ridiculously tiny amounts of data. Well, Markuss has succeeded in...err, "porting"...Valve's Left4Dead into said limitations.
The result - a game that will help you reasonably waste 15 to 20 minutes as well as wear your mouse down in Diablo-esque hyper-clicking fashion.
Checking out the Java 4k site opens up a whole new world of minimal Java joy. There's a nice sized community involved in this - who would have thunk?!
The sad thing is, this article is probably a larger file size than the aforementioned game - and have I entertained you nearly as much? I highly doubt so.
Now go kill some zombies while I gently weep.

This is only 4 KBs? Pretty ridiculous and awesome.
just awsome :P
I remember a full 3D shooter that was just over a meg, but this might take the cake. Full shadows in under a meg? Fo reel?
