As I was updating some review-related paperwork and double-checking release dates this morning, I happened to notice that Dead Rising 2 had been pushed back from March 2010 to August 31, 2010 in GameStop's computer. Now, this could mean absolutely nothing, but the mega-retailer often gets release information before the gaming press. We could have a much longer wait in store for the zombie-filled sequel than we were anticipating.

It's true that GameStop often uses placeholder dates in their system to get reserves, but since pushing the date back several months would be likely to hurt their pre-orders more than help them, I don't see why they would do it--unless they know something we don't. We'll contact Capcom and let you know if we hear anything other than "no comment".
