Dragon Age: Origins "Return to Ostagar" DLC Coming Next Week
For Real This Time
by Sarah

The Dragon Age: Origins downloadable content known as "Return to Ostagar" has had some issues, but it is finally coming out--and staying out--next week, according to an interview with GamerZines. BioWare's Ray Muzyka stated "We have a big investment planned for Dragon Age with more DLC coming in the next week or so." While "next week or so" may not be the most official release date I've ever heard, it appears that "Ostagar" is pretty much ready to go. So what was the reason for previously making it available, and then taking it down?
"We ran into an issue with a title update simultaneously hitting with Return to Ostagar and there was a timing issue with both of those. I don't know if it was a communication error with our distribution partners or what happened there. If they were released in order it would have been fine but it created a bug which prevented progression and obviously that wasn't acceptable so we pulled it down."
It's certainly not the first time that there has been a downloading snafu on Xbox Live and probably won't be the last, but at least BioWare fixed the problem as quickly as possible. Hopefully "Ostagar" will extend the Dragon Age experience so wonderfully that everyone will just forget about that time it was released by accident.

still need to finish this, but i've got no time.
If you had already downloaded it a few weeks back, there's a snazzy work-around involving your XBL account to get it to function without it cocking up your carried over learned job classes.
I get a little jealous when I see my roommate use Cailan's vestments on his game.
I need to finish it, but that would require looking at it, which given how fugly the graphics are, is difficult to do sometimes. WHY is everything in Ferelden rustshit brown?
Or a JRPG.
Jesse: I know, and I have a feeling if I played it on a PC I wouldn't have as much of a problem. A shame because it's a very good game for the msot part.
