I've never played any of the Etrian Odyssey games, but they apparently have a huge cult following and enough fans to warrant multiple sequels. With the third game in the series, Etrian Odyssey III: The Drowned City due out later this year, it's probably time for me to see what all the fuss is about. Luckily, Atlus is making that a little easier with this new trailer that shows off the game's art style and dungeon crawling.
I usually have trouble staying committed to games that only have first-person dungeon gameplay, but it appears that Etrian Odyssey III will have some other elements that will add variety to the title. I'll give just about anything a chance, especially if it's an RPG from Atlus, and maybe I'll end up falling in love with the series too. I'll have impressions of Etrian Odyssey III in the coming weeks and a full review in September.
