You may not know the name Rhianna Pratchett, but chances are you know some of the games she’s worked on. In addition to being the daughter of writer Terry Pratchett, she’s also a freelance writer herself, having been involved in both journalism and gaming scripts. She was the writer of last year’s PS3 hit Heavenly Sword, and has also written the highly-anticipated upcoming holiday title Mirror’s Edge. According to Joystiq, Pratchett’s next project will be Overlord 2, along with several other Overlord spin-off games. She also wrote the script for the first Overlord, for which she won a British Writers’ Guild Award nomination.

I never played the first Overlord, but I did enjoy Heavenly Sword, and Mirror’s Edge is shaping up to be pretty cool as well. With such a promising scriptwriter behind the Overlord series, I just may have to see what it’s all about. Expect Overlord 2 sometime next year.
