Since this announcement is coming just a little over a month before the remake of Persona launches for the portable system, I immediately assumed that P3 or P3 FES was being ported as well. As it turns out, however, Persona 3 PSP will feature a new protagonist—a leading lady, with what appears to be a female version of Orpheus as a persona. Orpheus was the persona that the male lead of Persona 3 started out with, and it also played a part in “The Answer” portion of FES. Curious!

From the Famitsu ads scanned on Destructoid, it appears that Persona 3 PSP already has a Japanese release date—November 1. That’s not very long to have to wait, and I hope North America gets it shortly afterwards. I’ve been playing Persona PSP for a couple of weeks now, and I have to say that it’s pretty great, so I trust Atlus to properly move this wonderful game to the handheld. I’m hoping to hear more news from Atlus U.S.A. shortly.
