In our continued quest to keep you informed on all the details we can about what deals you can expect to get from various retailers during the capitalist extravaganza that is Black Friday, today we bring you word on at least one special you can expect from the world's largest company, Walmart. A report on CNN which details many of that store's expected Friday sales mentions by name a specific deal on some of the Activison Hero series of games. Here's the deal: purchase either Band Hero, Guitar Hero or DJ Hero, and you can nail yourself a $40 gift card. I could try to speculate on just what "Guitar Hero" means, because I would assume that they're not referring to the 2005 PS2 game, but with so many Guitar Hero games on the market, who can tell? There's also a number of specials on various electronics, including a 32-inch Emerson LCD 720p HDTV for $248, and a 42-inch Emerson Plasma 720p HDTV for $448.

While I'm sure that there will be more game deals from Walmart for Black Friday, so far the Hero bundle is the only one that has been confirmed. Now before you scoff at the gift card, remember that you can stretch forty bucks further at Walmart than at just about any other store. You can get yourself 100 pairs of tube socks and still have change left over to pick up a couple of packs of AA batteries. You could also spend that forty beans on a handful of pairs of Lee jeans, or maybe even a BB gun. The point is that if you were looking to get one of those three games, Walmart has just given you a pretty good incentive to get it from one of their stores. Although since Walmart is annually the place where at least one or two people are trampled to death trying to get a sale item, maybe you should consider spending that gift card on a first aid kit or a tourniquet.
