Epic Mickey Gameplay Trailer is Epic

Hey There! Hi There Ho There! You're as Welcome as Can Be!

It's been a little while since I got at all excited about the prospect of playing a Wii exclusive. Don't get me wrong, there's plenty of high quality games out there for the OG motion-controlled system, but by and large, a lot of them tend to slip under the radar. There are a few exceptions to every rule, such as NBA Jam, Donkey Kong Country Returns, and, of course, Epic Mickey. Warren Spector's video game reinvention of the world's best known corporate icon has sounded like one of the most impressive titles to hit store shelves this holiday season. As you can see above, Disney Interactive has released a new gameplay trailer for the game, which really only does more to fuel the flames of my desire for it.

Apart from appearing to be a more-than-serviceable platformer, the game looks to be chock full of homages and Easter Eggs from the rich trove of Disney history. Anyone who has ever spent time at the Magic Kingdom had to feel a little swell of nostalgia upon seeing that Epic Mickey has the statue of Walt and Mickey holding hands. As for the gameplay itself, it looks like a mix of Pikmin, Super Mario Sunshine, with, again, solid platforming. Is the child inside of anyone else excited for November 30th?
