Jimmy Fallon Dedicating an Entire Week to Video Games
Late Night Talk Show Host Gets a Full Slate of Unreleased Goodness
by Sean

Jimmy Fallon is one of the more polarizing personalities in show business. I know people who love him and his brand of comedy, and I know people who can't stand him even a little bit, but I can't say I know anyone who comes down in the middle. Regardless, since Fallon is an unabashed gamer, his is the one show on network television that covers the world of gaming with the same weight other shows give to television and movies. Hell, we're talking about the guy who actually beat Tiger Woods at Tiger Woods. Although he has done plenty of segments on the industry, next week his entire show will be dedicated to gaming.
Calling it the "LNJF Video Game Week", each night will be dedicated to one game or company. On Monday the 21st, he'll be checking out a variety of 360 games that utilize the Kinect technology. Tuesday will be dedicated to Activision, which will be showing off a demo of Call of Duty: Black Ops. On Wednesday, EA will stop by with Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit. Killzone 3 has got Thursday all locked up, although it's not clear if Jimmy will be playing in 3D or not. The week will wrap up with Nintendo, who will be bringing Donkey Kong Country Returns.
Jimmy said of the special programming, "We're going to be playing video games all week -- which is exactly what I'd be doing if I didn't have this show."
Whether or not gamers will turn off their consoles for an hour late at night every night (or remember to set their DVRs to record the shows) remains to be seen. However it is nice to know that there is at least one mainstream media personality that understands that games aren't just for little kids or grandparents in nursing homes. It might be a little bit better if he wasn't on the lowest rated network, but, hey, we'll take what we can get.

It's on Hulu, no need to DVR or stay up that late. "That late"...man, 9-6 job is killing me.
