Last night, Cliff Lee pitched what many are calling one of the greatest post-season games in MLB history as he led the Philadelphia Phillies to a complete game 6-1 victory over the New York Yankees in game one of the 2009 World Series. It was the kind of performance that would make a Phillies fan (full disclosure: I'm a Phillies fan) wish the guy could pitch every night, because if he could, the Phils would sweep, no question. However, he can't pitch every night, so theoretically the Series is still very much up in the air. If you're looking for a sign to tell you how the rest of the games will play out, you could spend time reading over the thousands of pages of statistics about the players, teams, tendencies, weather predictions, and endless other data; or, you could just consult a video game and let it do all the work for you. That's just what Sony did, as the stellar baseball title MLB 09 The Show was set to play a seven game World Series between the Phils and the Yanks.

The result: Phillies win in seven games.

Now right off the bat, it should be noted that the game is already a little bit off. Last night's game finished 6-1, while the Show predicted a Phillies win with a score of 12-3. In Sony's simulated Series, the Phils will jump out to a 3 games to 1 lead before the Yanks bats come alive and force a game 7. Either way, it looks like, if the Show is to be believed, the Phils will be successful in their title defense.
