Rockstar VP "Not Sure" About GTA IV DLC in 2008
Gamers "Not Sure" They Have the Time Anyway
by Sean

The saga of downloadable content for one of this year's biggest games, Grand Theft Auto IV, is nearly as long and as seemingly contradictory as the rumors/denials of a Blu-ray 360. Every few weeks, word will leak out from one place or another that the DLC has been given a tentative release date. Then a few weeks later, someone else will come along to reassure us that the new content is nowhere near being finished, and that we should just wait patiently.
Most recently, the word came from Leipzig that the DLC would be coming in November (also known as the month we're currently in). Without any official confirmation, those of us who have seen this show before knew that it would just be a matter of time before this date too became one more ugly rumor. Well, it looks like today is that day.
In an interview with Variety magazine, Rockstar Games VP Dan Houser was asked, point blank, if he expects the GTA IV DLC to see the light of day in 2008. Houser responded, "I'm not sure. It's going well. But we don’t know a date. We hope to be announcing that in the next few weeks. . .We're more focused on quality than dates."
So there you have it. Another day, another rumor squashed. Now, about that Blu-ray 360...

I would pretty much not listen to what anyone but Rockstar says about DLC in GTA4. Its fun to speculate release dates, but "When it's done" seems to be a good solid indication that it will be ready eventually. Amazon is horrible about putting up false release dates, just to site an example.
Now that being said, Rockstar... we dont need another Duke Nukem Forever wait, so get moving haha.
