Trooper Class Announced for The Old Republic

Bioware has announced another character class for Star Wars: The Old Republic, the upcoming MMO based on George Lucas's universe. Players can look forward to donning armor that looks eerily similar to the exploding-plastic kind worn by Stormtroopers, as new class will be the Trooper. The Trooper joins the Bounty Hunter as the only two playable classes to be announced so far.
Here's the lowdown on the class:
The Trooper is an elite combat specialist in the Republic military armed with heavy blaster rifles and nearly impenetrable armor designed by the military’s top engineers. Trained to beat almost any odds, the Trooper battles deep behind enemy lines to carry out precise, hard hitting strikes against the enemy, with a barrage of blaster-fire and a few carefully aimed firebombs. Even Sith Lords are wise to think twice before engaging in combat with the Trooper—this is what it means to be one of the Republic’s finest.
So - two classes named, and both are covered head to toe in armor. I'm not saying that is a good or bad thing, but it is worth noting. I mean, sure, they're wearing helmets, and you'll be able to customize the face beneath it. I just wonder when we'll get to see some Hutts or playable Geonosians.
You can see more Trooper screens, and get yourself some Trooper wallpapers at The Old Republic's official site.

Are troopers really canon for the Old Republic Universe? I don't recall them in either of the games but I haven't read any expanded universe books....

Two bad-ass classes thus far. When I played Galaxies I was a BH, and I suspect the same will happen if I decide to play this MMO.
However, 75% of the community will probably pick the same class - just as they did in Galaxies. I guess I am just a tool.
