During last month's E3 Sony press conference, developer United Front unveiled the second game in Sony's "Play. Create. Share." marketing initiative, the kart racer Modnation Racers. If you watched that event, the trailer below may look familiar to you. However if you somehow missed out on the coverage, may I present to you for the first time ever, the first trailer for Modnation Racers.

Over on the PlayStation Blog, Modnation Racers designer William Ho claims that his team is hard at work fine-tuning the game to get it ready for gamers. He writes:

"Our team lives and breathes ModNation. We’ve got artists turning in hot laps on tracks. We’ve got programmers creating wild-looking Mods. Everyone’s making fun, original tracks by driving them. Team members are racing, creating, showing off, and one-upping each other every week."

There still has been no official word on a release date, but the "2010" at the end of the trailer certainly seems promising. Let's hope it makes it out next year, rather than join the recent game-delay parade. If the first "Play. Create. Share." game, LittleBigPlanet, is any kind of example, Modnation Racers will be worth the wait.
