Aliens FPS For Sega Coming

Developed By Gearbox

by Veggie Jackson

Fans of Aliens, James Cameron’s 1986 sequel to Ridley Scott’s masterpiece, Alien, have reason to cheer.  Game Informer is reporting that Gearbox, developer of the critically acclaimed Brother in Arms series, is working on a squad-based fps based on the classic sci-fi thriller for Sega.  Not a whole lot more info for this one, other than the title, Aliens: Colonial Marines, the vaguest hints that it’s set for release on the PS3 and Xbox 360 some time in the future (since the past is already gone, and the present, well, you just missed it.)

It kinda makes you wonder if Sigourney Weaver’s absence from the upcoming Ghostbusters game has anything to do with this game.  Having the real Ripley a part of the experience could only make it that much sweeter.  Lance Henriksen, Michael Biehn, Bill Paxton and Paul Reiser in the game = 1,000 cherries on top.

Must get GameInformer. This franchise has needed a great game since AvP the arcade game. That thing was the bombdiggity.
