The classic Mega Man series is known for two things; a difficulty level that spanks your ass like an abusive father and awesome, elemental-themed bosses.  It looks like both of these elements will be making their way into Mega Man 9.  MyGamerCard.net has posted a list that is rumored to be the Achievement list for the Xbox 360 version of the game, and in true Mega Man form, it looks to be brutally difficult.  

Jitterbug - Clear the game in 60 minutes or less. - 20 GP
Invincible - Clear the game without dying. - 30 GP
Almost Invincible - Clear the game without continuing. - 20 GP
No Coffee Break - Clear the game without using any Energy or Mystery Tanks. - 10 GP
Peacekeeper - Clear the game by defeating the fewest number of enemies possible. - 20 GP
Conservationist - Clear the game by using the least amount of Weapon Energy possible. - 20 GP
Gamer’s Day - Clear the game 5 times in 1 day. - 20 GP
Whomp Wily! - Clear the game once. - 5 GP
Destroyer - Defeat your 1000th enemy. - 20 GP
World Warrior - Defeat every type of enemy. - 5 GP
Trusty Sidearm - Defeat the 8 Bosses with the Mega Buster. - 20 GP
Blue Bomber - Defeat a Boss without getting damaged. - 10 GP

If this really is the list, I’ll tell you right now that I won’t be getting more than two or three of these.  World Warrior, Destroyer and Whomp Wily! seem doable, but the rest require a level of patience and dedication that my ADD-afflicted mind just can’t muster.  Seriously, defeating the game without dying?  Defeating ALL the game’s bosses with just the Mega Buster?  Insane!

As for the bosses, IGN has posted images of three of the game’s level chiefs; Tornado Man, Concrete Man and Magma Man.  Take a look:

Pure 8-bit goodness.  Sure, we’ve seen wind and fire-themed baddies plenty of times before in Mega Man games, but Concrete Man?!  That's a new one on me. Looks like hs gun will give you the ability to fire blocks that not only kill enemies, but also provide platforms to jump on.  Strategy platforming at its finest.
