The last two Fight Night games were excellent, but shared the same weakness; a weak story/career mode.  The next iteration, Fight Night Champion, looks to remedy this by adding a more cinematic, dramatic storyline mode in addition to the standard career mode.  Two new trailers (it’s actually more like 1 ½ trailers) give us our first look at Andre Bishop, the star of the story mode.

Andre’s got a good point about a champion being more than just a belt.  This is especially true in boxing, where there are as many as five championship belts in each of the 17 weight classes, and vacant belts often lead to untested “champions.”  With the exception of Manny Pacqiao, Fight Night is about the only aspect of the boxing world that anyone cares about any more.  Perhaps the new story mode will inspire a few people to become new fans of the sport.  Boxing could certainly use them.
